The Alexander Enquiry
Alexander's report is published today, and our New Labour government has already rubbished it (again), calling it “out of date” and “a backward step.”
Whereas the Daily Mail has spoken out against our Stalinist schools system.
What we need is an alternative term of abuse to “Stalinist”, since this is a bit . . . inappropriate? . . . and I'd suggest Blairist, which is a term I'm convinced is almost as vile as Stalinist these days, and of course absolutely appropriate since Blair (with Mandelson and Brown) was the chief architect of the type of State command and control system we're used to seeing in this country – a system that's gone way beyond what even Thatch attempted to do to us.
If my mind wasn't made up before it sure is now – there's NO WAY I could consider voting for Labour at the next election. The sheer stupidity and philistinism of their response to Alexander's inquiry is both breathtaking and appalling.
It should also be noted they've done little substantial for constitutional reform, for reform of the banking and finance system, or for reform of our way of doing politics. They're fucked, the whole lot of them.
Please read the report itself and also these commentaries.
